Target Tuition profile of Keith Hepburn

Mr & Mrs K HepburnTarget Tuition is owned and run by Keith Hepburn, and based in Winchmore Hill, North London.

Keith Hepburn trained to become an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in 2001, with one of the largest driving instructor training colleges in the country.

After qualifying he joined the AA driving school as a franchised driving instructor, in April 2006 he decided to further his career and started his own independent driving school.

Target Tuition was set up so Keith could engage directly with customers, providing a local professional service. He now lives in Winchmore Hill, North London with his wife Olga Hepburn, and strongly believes in investing in the local community.

All approved driving instructors have to pass a demanding three-part exam. A multiply choice 'Theory Test' and 'Hazard Perception Test' (Part 1), a 'Driving Ability Test' (Part2), and an 'Instructional Ability Test' (Part 3). The driving ability and instructional ability tests are limited to 3 attempts, which makes the qualifying process very demanding.

A fully qualified ADI must display a green certificate on the windscreen of the car while giving tuition. Some trainee driving instructors are granted a licence so they can gain experience before their qualifying examination. In this case, the potential driving instructor (PDI) must display a pink certificate on the windscreen.

Keith Hepburn has passed all three qualifying exams and is registered on the list of Approved Driving Instructors (ADI), and received one of the highest grades achievable.

Raising the standards of driver training remains an important part of his business profile.

With experience and knowledge his aim is to provide a high standard of coaching that allows you to not only pass your driving test, but provide you with a full appreciation of all the factors that influence safety.

Choosing a driving instructor is your first step towards safe driving. Driving is a life skill and you need someone who can show you not only what is required to pass today's demanding driving test but also to ensure you have the skills and ability to become a safe driver.

Some instructors after passing the 'Driving Ability Test' (Part 2), choose to gain experience by using a trainee licence (or pink badge), they have not passed the 'Instructional Ability Test' (Part 3), and may never do so.

RoSPA Advanced Driver Grade Silver

RoSPA Advanced Driving Test

Whilst narrowly missing the much sort after 'Gold' award I achieved an impressive 'Silver' which is a very high standard of driving over 90 minutes including a commentary drive. Much of the training for the RoSPA advance drive focuses on the police drivers manual ' Roadcraft'. Whilst a lot of attention is placed on progress, safety always comes first.
