These are the key dates to be prepared for strike action. If you do not receive notification in advance you should turn up as normal. Not all examiners are part of the union.

Monday 24 April and Tuesday 25 April

Barnet (London) Borehamwood (London), Loughton (London)

Thursday 27 and Friday 28 April

London, south-east England, south-west England and Wales

Chingford (London) Enfield (Brancroft Way), Enfield (Innova Business Park) Hendon (London), Mill Hill (London), Tottenham, Wanstead (London), Wood Green (London.

The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) Union has announced that its members will take part in further discontinuous strike action during April.

PCS has told DVSA the strike action will affect driving examiners and some vehicle and traffic examiners.

We do not expect this action by PCS to affect vehicle approval examinations, but we will not know for certain until strike action takes place.

Not all DVSA staff are PCS members, and even if they are, they might choose not to go on strike.

If you have a vehicle approval appointment booked during the strike period

Please continue to attend your booking as planned.

If your approval examination does not go ahead as a result of strike action, DVSA will automatically rebook the appointment. You do not need to contact DVSA.

Customer service centre

PCS has announced strike dates that may affect our customer service centres on 5 and 6 April and 11 and 12 April.

On these dates the customer service centre will be open from 8am to 4pm and it may take longer than usual to answer your query.
