Technology plays an important rule in our lives and that is no different to the Driving Test. After recent trials driving examiners are now using a tablet to mark your driving test report.
What does this mean? There is no change in the way the test is marked and you will still receive a Pass Certificate, but the report will be emailed to the recipient who booked the test or a chosen email stated on the day of the test.
The tablet screen is designed so it will not glare from the position of the driver. This is important so any distractions are avoided whilst you are driving. Driving examiners are exempt from certain laws regarding the use of data communication devices, as they are not seen as instructors, but rather assessors. The role-out has been smooth and driving examiners across the country have now adopted this approach. In the long term it will cut down on fraud and speed up the process of receiving full driving licences. It will also saves mountains of paper that was used to complete the old forms. All in all this is a win win for students and instructors as there is greater clarity over the test.
