The DVSA recently consulted on the cost of the driving test among other services they provide. This means that the cost of your driving test will increase and once implemented will mean you will be paying more for the driving test. The majority of those consulted agree with the increase. The full details for the consultation and proposals can be found here.
The increases are as follows:
Theory test (car and motorcycle)£23 - £23.40
Car driving test (normal hours)£62- £62.90
Car driving test (out of hours)£75 - £76.10
This will most likely have an impact on cancellation checkers which search for short notice tests. It is not possible to use these systems when the cost of the test fee is different to another where the fee is greater than before. So for example you cannot usually swap a Weekday test with a Weekend test.
