TRIAL FOR NEW REVERSE MANOEUVRE ON DRIVING TESTS

Updated: May 13, 2022

THE DVSA HAVE MADE THE DECISION TO INCLUDE THE REVERSE PAY PARK OUTSIDE THE TES CENTRES. The DVSA are trialling a new exercise to be added to the driving test. Under current driving test rules candidates maybe asked to reverse park at the driving test centre where it is possible. Trials are now taking place from the 1st February 2022 to conduct this exercise at non DVSA locations and on private car park. The trials will begin at the following test centres. Stafford, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Barnsley, Wakefield, Chester, Northwich, Upton, Wallasey, St Helens, Wolverhampton, Gillingham, Bishopbriggs, Gateshead, Durham and Abergavenny. Target Tuition welcomes this trial and would support such changes as it provides more flexibility to the driving test. Allows for examiners to spend more time assessing a candidates driving. I can see no problem why this would not be agreed. I will update you on further changes in the future.
